Symptoms
Mild fever Rash Joint pain and muscle aches Conjunctivitis (red eyes) Headache
Causes
Transmission through Aedes mosquito bites Mother-to-child transmission during pregnancy Sexual transmission from infected person
Diagnosis
Blood or urine tests for Zika virus RNA or antibodies Assessment of travel or exposure history
Treatment
Supportive care: rest, fluids, and pain relief Avoid NSAIDs until dengue is ruled out Prevention of mosquito bites and sexual transmission
