Overview
Uterine prolapse occurs when the uterus descends into or outside of the vaginal canal due to weakened pelvic muscles and ligaments.
Symptoms
Sensation of heaviness or pulling in the pelvis Visible bulge from the vagina in severe cases Urinary or bowel difficulties Lower back pain
Causes
Childbirth, especially multiple vaginal deliveries Pelvic surgery Aging and decreased estrogen Chronic coughing or straining
