Overview

Jaw pain is discomfort or aching in the jaw area, which can result from dental issues, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, or other medical conditions.

Symptoms

Pain or tenderness in the jaw Difficulty chewing or opening the mouth Clicking or popping sounds in the jaw Swelling around the jaw

Causes

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders Dental issues like cavities or abscesses Jaw injury or trauma Arthritis affecting the jaw joint Teeth grinding (bruxism)

Diagnosis
