Overview
Glomerulonephritis is inflammation of the tiny filters in the kidneys (glomeruli), which can affect the kidneys’ ability to remove waste and excess fluid from the body.
Symptoms
Blood in urine (hematuria) Foamy urine due to protein (proteinuria) Swelling in face, hands, feet, or abdomen High blood pressure
Causes
Post-infection immune response (e.g., after strep throat) Autoimmune disorders such as lupus Chronic diseases like diabetes or hypertension
Diagnosis
