National Epilepsy Week 2026 is being observed across South Africa from 9 to 15 February, led by Epilepsy South Africa under the theme "Epilepsy In Action." The campaign calls on individuals, schools, workplaces, and communities to take one meaningful step toward supporting the estimated 1 in 100 South Africans living with epilepsy. By promoting seizure first-aid awareness, challenging stigma, and encouraging inclusion, the initiative aims to move beyond awareness toward practical action, reinforcing that epilepsy is not only a medical condition but also a matter of dignity, rights, and community support.
