Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital Faces Crisis as Only One Doctor Remains After Israeli Raid
Following a prolonged raid by Israeli forces, Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital now has just one doctor on-site, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the Hamas-led health ministry. Dr. Khalil Daqran issued a plea in a video statement, urging international aid groups to send medical personnel urgently, as patients suffer without essential care.

According to Dr. Daqran, the raid left extensive damage, with parts of the hospital set ablaze, entrances destroyed, and nearby walls demolished. Reports indicate that patients and medical staff faced physical assault, with many arrested, and over 30 personnel remain missing. The hospital, now devoid of basic supplies like medicine, food, and water, has ceased operations.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that its operation targeted a Hamas base within the hospital, finding weapons and cash linked to the group. They claimed efforts to minimize harm to civilians while allowing for hospital evacuations. However, local health officials contest these assertions, maintaining that the hospital was used solely for medical purposes.

This raid is part of Israel’s broader response to the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. Since then, the humanitarian crisis in northern Gaza has escalated, with civilians facing severe shortages of food, water, and medical supplies.
